Big Year Ahead – Looking at 2010

Most of you know that I get away every year for a few days to wait on God.  I need to be personally refreshed and refurbished, and I always want to know if there is anything in the ministry that needs a little tweak or two.  This year I came back with a few things that might interest you.  So, here’s my list for 2010:

  1. Isaiah 65.  A lot of unlikely people will come to the Lord this year.  Those who seek Him and serve Him will experience protection and blessing while the world of the God- rejecters around us continues to spin out of control.  We are going to have to learn to live in the land of Goshen.
  2. 1 Timothy 6:20.  It is a year to guard the things that God has committed to you.  The chaos around us will provide much distraction.  Make sure you take good care of His trust to you. We need to get better at what we have been given.  For us at FCF Tucson/ Abundant Heart that means taking heed to the healing ministry, solidifying and stabilizing our outlets for building people of substance, and contending consistently for the power of the Spirit.
  3. The law enforcement community will be a point of emphasis in ministry this year. They are the thin line that separates the innocent from the predator.
  4. We will hone and focus our ministry to those with addiction problems. There will be a new emphasis on prescription drug addiction.  We want to help those who are bound and expose those who exploit their trusted position to enslave others.
  5. Genesis  38:9.  It is a year of obedience unto fruitfulness.  The activities that are designed only to bless us must begin to reach out to others or endure pruning. Spiritual Onanism must be eliminated.

Scripture Reading:   And oh, my dear Timothy, guard the treasure you were given! Guard it with your life. Avoid the talk-show religion and the practiced confusion of the so-called experts. People caught up in a lot of talk can miss the whole point of faith. Overwhelming grace keep you! (1 Timothy 6:20-21 MSG)

Somebody Said: Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.            M. Scott Peck

We have another year to spend.  I urge you; take thought to spend it well.  Happy New Year.  I started preaching on this last Sunday.  You can see it at
