A Word in the Night

Sunday morning around 3 AM, I was lying in bed awake and praying in tongues.  My mind was focusing on several folks who are currently undergoing challenges in the area of finances.  I prayed for their blessing.  As I did so, the Holy Ghost plopped a little checklist into my spirit.  I know it is all simple stuff, and I know you are all great people of faith, but just humor me a minute as I share what the Lord gave me.

Three scriptures: Malachi 3:8-10, Mark 11:23-25. and Matthew 18:19.

One:            Are you a tither and a giver?  Tithing is not a law in that you can be saed and not tithe. It is, however the obedience key to entry into the financial blessing of God.

Two:            What are you believing?  You must believe that it is God’s will to prosper you (Not in general, but you specifically), and you must believe you receive when you pray.  If you still have your blessing in the future tense, you are not yet in faith.  Faith only comes from the Word of God: no Word, no faith.

Three:            What are you saying?  Your blessing will never rise above the level of your confession.

Four:            How is your love life?  Lack of love, unforgiveness, blocks the blessing every time.

Five:            Is your house in agreement?  Strife short-circuits faith.  Agreement multiplies it.

Scripture Reading:  Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. (Psalms 1:1-3 NLT)

Somebody Said:  What’s money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.    Bob Dylan

There are many other pesky little natural variables (see Proverbs) in the formula for any individual success: diligence, faithfulness, etc.  However, without these five “spiritual” considerations, real Bible blessing will be thwarted.
